Students must treat all the members of Abu Huraira staff (teachers, volunteers, and administration) with respect and dignity, especially individuals in authority. Students are expected to uphold and demonstrate these Islamic behavior at all times:

• Respect individuals who are in a position of authority.
• Maintaining cleanliness of mind, body, and clothing.
• Respect and treat others fairly.
• Demonstrate honesty and integrity.
• Treat one another with dignity, respect at all times, and behave as roles for each other.
• Show proper care and regard for Abu Huraira property and the property of others.
• Respect the need of others to work in an environment of learning and teaching.

 

In addition to these rules students must follow the regulations in these designated areas:

 

In the Classroom

1. Show respect to all teachers and assistants.
2. Respect and cooperate with other students.
3. Work quietly in an orderly manner.
4. No chewing gum in school.
5. Complete their class work.

Inside Multi-Purpose Areas

1. Do not run in the halls.
2. Do not hang around or play in the halls.
3. Obey instructions given by the administration, teachers and volunteers.
4. Do not disturb others.

Prohibited Items

Students are not allowed to bring the following items to school:

• Cell phones.
• Electronic devices, (i.e. iPod, and MP3 Player).
• Video Game Consoles (i.e. PSP).
• Collectable Cards.
• Toys

The administration staff will confiscate prohibited items, and it may or may not be returned at the administration’s discretion.

These rules are strictly enforced to ensure the well-being of all students. If a student does not agree with the above behavioral expectations and/or the parent does not wish to monitor their child in following these expectations, then perhaps, Abu Huraira Center is not the place for you or your child.

Code of Behavior

“The best among you are those with the best behavior”. (Al-Bukhari)

For the safety and well-being of the students and to better serve and maintain high standards at Abu Huraira Center. It is necessary for parents to instill the importance of respecting and obeying Abu Huraira Center Rules, which will, in future, help our students become law-abiding citizens.

All minor incidents of inappropriate behavior will be dealt with by the Principle. Repeated minor infractions will be classified as a major infraction. Major violations will require a parent’s notification by the Principal or administration. Students must:

• Exhibit good manners at Abu Huraira Center.
• Try their best in the classroom to complete all required assignments.
• Work cooperatively with each other.
• Help make Abu Huraira Center a safe place to be for everyone involved in our school life.
• Speak in a courteous tone of voice when addressing others.
• Be responsible for helping to keep Abu Huraira Center and all of Abu Huraira Center properties clean.
• Stay on Abu Huraira Center grounds during school hours.
• Attend school regularly and be punctual

Abu Huraira Center is not equipped to handle children with severe behavioral problems or learning disabilities. In cases of habitual inappropriate behavior, the Masjid will work closely with parents in identifying the source of the problem and ways of changing those patterns. If the staff and parents together have exhausted all possibilities to modify the behavior of offenders, parents will be advised to seek professional counseling or enrolment may be terminated.
